WSOP Moving from the Rio to Planet Hollywood

There have been rumours going around stating that the WSOP may be changing venues for 2011. This is officially posted now in Cake Poker Blog and they say the WSOP will move out of the Rio to a new home in Planet Hollywood.

Some players have commented saying that this is good because nobody really wanted the WSOP to take place at the Rio in the first place. The Rio can fit all the players for an event like the WSOP but that is pretty much one of the few things giving it a plus. The players often comment that the casino is located too far frmo the Las Vegas Strip.

The WSOP has been taking place at the Rio since 2005. Planet Hollywood is at the heart of the Strip and Harrah's Entertainment (WSOP brand owners) is reportedly very close to buying the company.

At the moment it is expected that the WSOP will be at the Rio this year and at Planet Hollywood next year.
