God vs Daniel Negreanu vs a Playboy Playmate

Is it possible that on a show that features Super Bowl Champion Jerome Bettis, four-time NBA Champion John Salley, UFC champion Tito Ortiz, four-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu and reigning Playboy Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole, that a priest from South Carolina could be its biggest star?

On Sunday, Oct. 11, airing directly after NFL on FOX coverage*, Father Andrew Trapp joins qualifiers from around the country in their quest for a life changing grand prize in the Pokerstars Million Dollar Challenge.

The 28-year old Trapp, who was ordained as a priest in August 2007, serves his parish at St. Michael Catholic Church in Garden City, SC. He heard about the Pokerstars.net Million Dollar Challenge game show, entered a specially designated online tournament at Pokerstars.net and put together an entry video in hopes of making it onto the show and winning a million dollars to help St. Michael build a new church, which is currently $1.5 million short of its goal. You can watch the video here:
His video earned him a selection to play on the show and with the blessing of his pastor and Bishop Robert Guglielmone, Trapp flew to Los Angeles for his chance at $1,000,000. Trapp, who is nicknamed "Father Rambo" for his love of paintball, has promised to donate any winnings to a fund for building a new church for his congregation.

In order to win a million dollars, Trapp will have to beat one of the aforementioned celebrities in an opening round heads up poker match. If he does that, he'll face off against a Team Pokerstars.net Pro such as World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event Champion Chris Moneymaker, Barry Greenstein or Vanessa Rousso for $25,000. In each of the opening rounds, he will have help from four-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu, who will coach Trapp against the celebrity and the pro. If he shows enough skill to win the first two rounds, Trapp will face Negreanu heads up, with a victory earning Trapp a $100,000 prize. A victory in the third round and Trapp will have a chance at the $1,000,000 grand prize in the series finale in December.

"Poker is one of my hobbies. I play it with family and friends. It's a way for people to come together, have fun and enjoy each other's company. There's no moral issue," said Trapp. "Even if I didn't win any money, it would be an opportunity for people across the country to see that there are still young men choosing to be priests, and that one can be joy-filled and have fun as one serves God."

Well, Trapp did win money -- at least $25,000. Tune in to FOX on Sunday, Oct. 11 to see how far Trapp is able to go on his quest for the $1,000,000.

To be like Father Trapp and have a chance at the $1,000,000 prize, players can enter free online tournaments at Pokerstars.net and submit a 60-second video for the chance to be a contestant on the Pokerstars.net Million Dollar Challenge. Each person selected will receive roundtrip airfare and accommodations to the show's taping in Los Angeles for themselves and two friends.

*Check local listings. Pokerstars.net Million Dollar Challenge will air before NFL action in some markets.
