Many have dreamt of becoming a poker player at some point in their lives. In order to make their dream come true they read books, they practice, they observe but what seems to also be a very succesful method is praying.
Father Andrew Trapp of St. Michael's Catholic Church is using his poker face on Saturday in California for the
Pokerstars.net Million Dollar Challenge. "To be a priest you have to have a good poker face." he said.
"All you had to do to get on the show was to enter a free online tournament," he explained. Andrew made it to the top 10 in an online tournament and for the second round he had to create a Youtube video, producers then would evaluate it and decide who was going to compete. Seems like the Holy Ghost was with Father Andrew on this one as he is going to take a shot at the pot.
"I'm going to be dressed like a priest. That will probably be something that most haven't come up against. They'll probably be thinking, 'Can this guy bluff? Is God going to be mad at me if I knock him out of this game?'" he said.
Father Andrew stated that his winnings will be donated to the church. Apparently it needs some arrangements as it is not set to hold-up in a hurricane and it is quite small.
Andrew is expectin to use gambling to set a good example. "Maybe [I'll] inspire some young people. They can serve God as a priest or sister or pastor and still have their same hobbies and interests and be themselves," he said.
