Martha Coakley, attorney general of the state of Massachusetts does not care if the people of her own state want to play poker online. Martha has stated that as long as she is attorneys general all online freedoms that involve "gambling" will remain "illegal". Well honey, they are not illegal, you just perceive them to be.
Why would Martha take such a hard line stance? Maybe needing to get her name in the news played some part in her dissing the majority of the residents of her state. You see, Coakley plans to run for the senate seat vacated by the late Sen Edward Kennedy. The hope is that the residents of Massachusetts shun this Nanny Democrat and elect someone more of a champion of the people like the departed Ted Kennedy.
Martha tried to say that the last legalization measure for online poker was written improperly. I am willing to
wager that if the correct bribes...whoops i mean campaign contributions, were paid ahead of time there would have been little wrong with the measure.
Ah, the world we live in. Corporate donations and big money take a back seat to what you, the people, want. Sad times, but maybe Massachusetts will see fit to reject this corporate candidate and look for someone who can emulate the greatness of their most recent senator to hold this position.
