Launch of new online poker platform: CEREUS

New poker platform will integrate customers and features from two leading poker rooms to create third largest online poker network

Miami, FL (PRWeb) July 24, 2008 – Today, the management of both Absolute Poker and UltimateBet announced the upcoming launch of CEREUS: a NEW POKER PLATFORM that will integrate the customers and features from both poker rooms, instantly making CEREUS the third largest online poker network.

CEREUS is the result of more than 12 months innovation and development. Absolute Poker and UltimateBet will retain their unique assets yet share more players, more action, more tournaments, incredible new features and massive promotions.

I'm guessing this was partially done to squelch the super user accounts and make a strong network to compete with Pokerstars and Full TIlt.

The news release is a bit confusing, they are NOT merging, they are just both moving to the same new network.

I see this as a great move for 2 sites that have been under fire with bad press of late. We'll monitor the situation and bring you more info as it comes along.

They've had the same owner for almost 2 years. AP and UB working together is nothing new.

poker players want stability from their poker site
AP and UB do not provide that, and this is another example.

the name Cereus is rather ambiguous in reference to the cacti.

If you look at the rankings at pokerscout.com, they will come like 6th or 7th. The UB cheating scandal isnt over yet tho, so I expect a decline in players there

There wont be a decline, This network will grow at a rapid pace once they introduce large guarantees. I'm also sure this software was built with some safeguards on the backend so they won't have these problems in the future.
