Friedman Wins WPT Legends of Poker

Prahlad Friedman beat 2009 WSOP November 9 participant Kevin Schaffel heads-up to take down the WPT Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino in California.

The Final Table:
1st Place: Prahlad Friedman - $1,009,000
2nd Place: Kevin Schaffel - $471,670
3rd Place: Todd Terry - $231,300
4th Place: Toto Leonidas - $144,600
5th Place: Sam Stein - $116,225
6th Place: Mike Krescanko - $89,220

Friedman benefited from a pretty top heavy structure that caused some grumbling in the days before the tournament. While Schaffel seems to be having a pretty good two months.

The WPT heads to the Golden Vegas in Bratislava for the WPT Slovakia next.

The next USA WPT event will be the Borgata Open in Atlantic City September 19 - 24. It will be interesting to see if the lower buyin ($3,500) brings out the crowd and stems the flow of WPT downward participation.
