| Why sometimes I love poker Sitting at a table 5c/10c NL ring. One guy shows up, sits with $3.59 and goies all-in every single hand. Ruins the table, no one dares put any money in as they know the'y be put on the line by bingo boy. Not an unfamiliar scenario. I uncheck the "auto blind" button, ready to move from the rapidly dwindling table... Waiting for the blinds to get back to me and bingo - I get AA. Perfect! Perfect! So, I raise to 25c. Nothing big - don't want him running. He of course pushes all in. Perfect! :-) BUT, now, one of the regular "good" players I have marked as a shark calls. Hmm Better, but prefer not to take on two people with rockets. I go over the top and push $9.80 all in. Second player calls.. gulp. Race time. As it happens, the second "good" player called with something lame like KQ. Super-idiot is actually holding a hand. 55. Flop.... 522 Oh ffs! he flops a boat. Turn x River...A YAY! :-) Love it. | Justice it was because a) I went in with the best hand b) He'd been abusing the table with non stop all-ins and needed taking down a peg :-) Ironically, I lost a SnG and also a $10 buy in on a ring game yesterday, twice with Kings. One chump called my x5 raise with Q2 - because they were suited. Yep - he hit. The other time I failed to let go of them when I should have and ran into trip 3's by someone doing exactly what I do, call most raises with any pair and pray for trips for the big win. Pfft lol |
