Am I an IDIOT? Team Play

Just thought I'd see what you folks thought. All feedback is welcome.

played in yesterdays forum wars game at Absolute. After a hand I was called an idiot several times by dirtywiteboy. This was the 1st hand that I had Just clashed with him. 45 mins into the tourney this hand happened. I checked every hand from beginning to where dirtywiteboy went out(which is the very next hand after this 1) and if anyone wants to see them I will be happy to forward them. I Probably played 1 hand against jennifernl wrong. For this I am sorry I didn't realize you were a teammate at that time. I had a list beside me but I missed you.

I would really like a little feedback on this hand.. I flopped an openended str8 draw..called a 400 bet..turn brought trips...I bet 1200...w 3 others in the pot of which I thought only 1 was a teammate(if I hadda known Jennifernl was a teammate at that time I probably would not have bet the turn)..on the river it was just me and dirtywiteboy and I checked what I figured was the best hand..even though I knew he was committed to calling with the rest of his chips..because he was a teammate...

Was I an IDIOT in the way I played this hand?

Even in team play I see nothing wrong with how you played the hand. You had trip nines, it was his choice to call you.

The only play I don't like is the check on the river. You play against your teammates the exact way you play against any other player. You are on a team because of your ability, and changing this for teammates hampers this. When you are in a game like that, play just your game, and trust them to play theirs.

LOL, The verbal abuse I had to put up with because of the way I played it He woulda really been nasty if I had of taken his last 850..

So your saying play your game period...That doesn't seem to work here. Been told I'm expected to play soft to teammates. I will be on a different team next time unless things change..3rd different "teammate" that has called me names...lol.. sticks and stones..

By the way 3 1/2 hrs later I did win this tourney..

I'll be damned if I would play soft when I have a hand and I've done team poker so I know how it goes. I would never intentionally push with crap, but if I have a hand, I'll take them out. And if you won, make sure they know to play soft against you next time around.

As for the check on the river, I took that as you being soft on a teammate. Next time he *****es, tell him you won't be so nice next time.

I once was on a "team" site and hated it. I could never get the hang of it. No matter what I did, people had a problem with my play. I don't play there anymore. Congrats on your win!

I believe you play with MPL, right? If so, ask Potsplasher if Borgo knows what he is talking about team play. Trust me, you don't play any differently in a team game.

I'd like to correct my esteemed friend Borgo.

You do play differnet in team play. I bluff and attack the really weak team-mates cause those chips serve the team better in my stack. I try not to bust them, just bleed-em.

I've seen so many average players turn into "Weak Passives" cause it's team play and there are team-mates at the table. Just give me those chips and I'll take'em deep for big points versus that putz maybe getting a point or two if I didn't brutalize them.

That's team play... my team-mate being nice enough to roll over like a prison biatch helping build my empire.

I guess I failed to point that out. However, since I bluff and attack any really weak player, it isn't exactly any different for me. For donks like Stick, I guess it is a bit different.
