CardPlayer Mucks SpadeClub

CardPlayer magazine has decided to cease operating their long running subscription based poker room SpadeClub. The subscription model is an attempt to run what many consider to be legal poker in the United States. Basically, players pay a monthly fee to play at the site and the site offers a few tournaments with cash prizes. The knock on these is why would a good player bother to play for a limited number of shots at cash when he/she could take a shot at cash any time of the day by risking a small amount at that time.

Anyway, it appears the idea did not work out for SpadeClub. Cardplayer will be turning over their player base to Zen Entertainment Network. I risk money for my rewards, so I do not have any information about Zen that is not included in the letter that CardPlayer sent to SpadeClub members.

Dear Valued SpadeClub Members,

Card Player Media is teaming up with the Zen Entertainment Network TM to provide a better poker experience to all our members. SpadeClub has ceased operations, and now your poker experience will be provided by the ZEN Entertainment Network.

Going forward, all SpadeClub members are being offered a chance to participate in the transition to the ZEN Entertainment Network. ZEN's VIP program will honor all time already purchased by SpadeClub members. Basic members can continue to play for free as well.

ZEN offers $100,000 in cash and prizes every month and has state of the art community features. ZEN is a terrific alternative now that SpadeClub is ceasing operations. Here are just a few of the great benefits to ZEN's poker product:

· $100,000 in Monthly Cash and Prizes
· Texas Hold'em, Royal Hold'em and Video Poker
· UFC, WWE Gear and Event Trips and Tickets
· Cameras, Home Electronics and Other Valuable Prizes
· Poker Articles, Tools and Tips
· Watch Game Play Through "Poker TV"

All you need to do now is log in to SpadeClub, and you will be transitioned to the ZEN Network. You will also have the opportunity to cash out any available balances in your SpadeClub account for the next 30 days. If you require assistance, please do not reply to the email, but rather email us at support@spadeclub.com.

We would like to thank you for your loyalty and participation within the SpadeClub community. Good luck and enjoy the ZEN Entertainment Network.

"ZEN acquired the rights to Royal Hold’em and No River Hold’em in 2007 and became involved with NLOP one year later. In 2009, it launched UFCPoker.com and officially unleashed the ZEN Entertainment Network earlier this year. Lifestyle and real estate entrepreneur Vincent Zaldivar is the company’s CEO, while Patrick McEntee is its COO. In addition to its headquarters in the Nevada desert, ZEN has offices in Boston, Palo Alto, the Ukraine, and India."

I received my email about this today...it had a redirect to another site and a download option. IDK if I'm up for all this "changing of hands" that has been going on everywhere lately lol. I think I will hold off and see what everyone else thinks of this one. I will however miss the games they had!
