| How Things Work at HPC
Here is some operational stuff on how we work day to day here at Holdem Poker Chat. We try not to send too many e-mails a week because we are trying to avoid getting sent to the junk mail or spam folders. Frequent e-mails and lots of links in them usually gets us banished there. Look for our e-mails maybe twice a week. Daily HPC games will be posted in the Poker Tournaments - Holdem Poker Forum thread each day, usually when I wake up. HPC Freerolls are posted in the sub-forum under this thread as well. Generally, with our freerolls if there is a password release, it will be posted in that sub-forum at the appropriate time. You can always go to the HPC Calendar and see the games as well. The general rule around here is buyin tournament passwords are freely distributed. We want everyone to play our buyins. Most freerolls that we run, you only have to be a member of Holdem Poker Chat and we usually release those passwords 30 minutes to 10 minutes before the event, depending on the site Open Tournaments, non-HPC fare, will be posted in the Open Poker Tournaments - Holdem Poker Forum thread. If you see a good open tournament, either post it in there, or send me a PM and I will work it up into a post. We do have a sub-forum in that thread for "other forum invites". We ask that the other forums get permission to post their events before doing so. Poker Site Promotions will generally be near the top of the forum in one of two threads. Online Poker Sites thread posts to the front page and has to be a pretty good promo, well written and visually appealing. Special Online Poker Promotions is more for quick notes on good things. Reload bonuses, etc we put in this thread. We encourage poker site reps to post in there. If you see a promotion that you think we should post, just send me a PM with the link or site, or post about it in General Poker Chat. It will get moved to the appropriate area, and maybe reworked for the front page If you look across the top of the forum, there is Poker Leagues to the right. In there you can see active leagues, scores, and upcoming league games. The important one for me is the Update Your Accounts link. In there is where you put your usernames for each site. Without those usernames in there, I cannot give you points for league events or marathons. The system for scoring does not allow names to be entered manually. The username needs to be selected from a drop-down menu. So get your names updated in there even if you do not play our league games often because big events are coming. Speaking of the big events: Fall Events at Holdem Poker Chat I am always looking for promotional deals and games with added value to post. Don't be afraid to mention them if you see them (excepting games from other forums, we want them to talk to fonzi before posting). There is, of course, a whole lot more to Holdem Poker Chat than what I have mentioned. These things above are some of the areas that I work directly with and know the most about.
