Bicycle Casino Satellite Night

I headed down to the Bike last Night to play in a satellite for the Winnin O The Green Championship next Saturday. It is a 1600.00 buy in and the satellite last night was $195.00 buy in for 4000 chips.

Only 111 players showed up on a Friday Night and I found it unusual the Bike would not have a NL tournament rather than a satellite on a Friday Night.

The top 11 players got paid and at 7pm we started. The first couple of hands I was up about 625 chips when disaster almost hit. I had QJ in the BB when the blinds were 25-50 for about 2 more minutes. The levels were only 20 minutes long last night and the structure was a normal one until about level 8 when it started to go up quickly.

There were four limpers in the pot and I raised it to 150.All four called. The flop came out Q-J-5 rainbow and it checked to me when I bet 600 chips. Asian man two seats to my left in seat 9 raised it to 1500 chips.

Everyone folded around to me and I thought for a bit and felt he was just trying to steal He only limped and I do not believe he had a set. I went all in and he called me. He turned over AA and when I turned over my two pair he got upset. He said this is the second satellite his aces were going to get beat. He didn't realize he was up against me though and when another 5 hit the river to give him two pair and save him, I had 575 chips left at the beginning of level 2.

I was not getting anything to make a move with. In my big blind this lady raised big, not wanting me to see a flop. She is a European women and plays alot of poker and is very aggressive.

A few hands later again in my BB and with only 375 chips left she raised big again and I had 77 so I put my last remaining chips in. She turned over very feeblishly 4-6 of hearts.

I won the race and was up to 1100 chips. The start of level 3 I still had 1100 chips when there were 4 people in front of me, in my BB, that were in for 1500 chips.

I had 8c-9s and I said out loud, "there is way too much money out there" I thought for about 30 seconds and went all in creating a side pot, but the main but had about 4700 chips in it.

The flop was beautiful for me,9-8-3, it checked around to a guy who tossed in 2000 chips and after some thought by two players they folded. I was wondering what he had and when he turned over AQ I knew the main was mine and he picked up the side pot and I was back in business.

A few hands later I had AK under the gun and made a big raise when the blinds were at 200-400 to 1500. It folded to the lady in the SB and she put her last 1500 chips in the pot. The BB thought for a bit and folded 99 face up.

I turned over my AK she turned over her AQ and when a 9 hit the flop I just breathed a sigh of relief and my AK held up.

I could not play another hand until level 8. I made an error here when this guy raises to 2500 when the blinds were 600-1200. The guy who had 99 earlier was still to my right after we moved to the last 4 tables. There were 31 players left and the next hands blinds were going up to 800-1600. He called the 2500 raise and he was about even in chips with me. I look down at 88 and I should have shoved my last 6200 chips right here. It was only the second pocket pair I had seen all night but I was worried about the initial raiser. His small raise was screaming for action.

The flop came out 4-9-10 and the first player checked. The guy to my right bet 1000 and I just put it all in. First raiser folds and the guy to my right thinks for about two minutes before calling. He turns over K-10 of diamonds. First off I do not know how he called 2500 chips with K10 when he was short and out of position, but thats just me. I turn over my 88 and the turn is a 7 giving me some outs but the river was a 5 and I was out 31st.

I played extremely well again for not having any cards. When I start getting some cards again I am going to be tough to beat.

Tonight I am going to a friends house for a very competitive home game with the guys from the Xterminator Poker Crew. It should be a fun night as there are 30 players tonite.

Take Care....Be Safe....
