Mini Marathon Report

Holdem Poker Chat has just concluded the Mini Marathon. Congratulations to JoeShowDown and his 8 on the river for winning the Mini Marathon.

The April and May leagues and the Mini Marathon are set to feed into a special OFC Live SNG for a $1,000 package to play in the Live OFC in Las Vegas.

"First and foremost, we're going to send one of our own to Las Vegas. We'll be holding a special 9 player Sit n Go winner take all tournament with a 1st place prize of $1,000 for airfare, hotel, tournament entry and reception dinner. to qualify we're taking the top 3 in each of our April and our May Poker league. The winner of the league on our other site PKR Nation - For PKR 3D Poker and Casino Players - Bonus Codes and the top 2 of our special mini Marathon that we have in the works (date TBA). Should someone win more than one entry, we will continue to go down the list of Mini Marathon spots until all seats are filled."

This system sets up almost as many scenarios as the NFL Playoffs has with a couple weeks to go in the season. I will attempt to explain some of them here.

First we have the three April league winners:

3 elwood
They are locked in and have seats.

Next Dunbar won the PKR seat. he is locked in and has a seat.

This is the Mini Marathon order of finish:
1 JoeShowdown
2 lkport
3 DarkRalph
4 TBLAZE
5 River D Rat
6 crazzvette
If not for the May League, these would be set. but at the least lkport and DarkRalph have locked up SNG seats

But then we have the ongoing May league running still. here are the current standings there

The leagues take first shot, remember, but if there are repeat winners in the top 3 of a league, then the seats go to the marathon.

Mersocal: Must win top 3 in league to get into SNG
Tahoeden: Must win top 3 in league to get into SNG
Redeyed: Must win top 3 in league to get into SNG
Goober17: Must win top 3 in league to get into SNG
MajorBuzz: Must win top 3 in league to get into SNG
Lexnat: Must win top 3 in league to get into SNG
Crazzvette: Must win top 3 in league to get into SNG, or all three Sadieaces, JoeShowdown, Elwood get top 3 in May league

TBlaze: Must have at least one of Sadieaces, JoeShowdown, Elwood, Lkport get top 3 in May League. Just one of them, and he is in the SNG.

River D Rat: Must have Lkport make top 3 in League and one of Sadieaces, JoeShowdown, Elwood get top 3 in May League, or all three Sadieaces, JoeShowdown, Elwood get top 3 in May league

The most likely scenarios are that one of Sadieaces, JoeShowdown, Elwood, Lkport will get top 3 in the league since I am currently winning it halfway through. also that Mersocal will get top 3 in the league.

It is not out of the question that 2 of us get in the top 3, so River D Rat has a fair chance, but in my opinion, not as good as the other 2 scenarios above because he needs Lkport in the top 3. Especially since crazzvette, tahoeden and all the others will be pushing hard to make the May league cut.

Ok, thats my best breakdown of the possibilities. Anyone sees more possibilities, post them in this thread. Questions and clarifications also

Dunbar- won PKR League
SadieAces -top 3 April League
Elwood- top 3 April League
JoeShowdown- top 3 April League
Lkport- either Marathon seat guaranteed, or top 3 in May League
DarkRalph- Marathon seat guaranteed

The OFC Live SNG will be 3 pm June 6th at Pokerstars and has to be a $1 buyin (we can't make a freeroll). We will transfer the $1.10 to the players that qualify.

To everyone who has yet to qualify, I would like to stress that the May league is less than half completed. There is more than enough time to make a run at those three seats. The point system is weighted toward the winner of each tournament so the quickest way to move up is to play a lot of them, and win a lot of them.
