Why is Turbos more popular than regular games?

I was just puzzled over on tilt there was 2 identical games with one being turbo and the other i was in ,was not. More people was in the regular when i noticed them , but was soon overtaken by the turbo as many more seemed to prefer that game.

I also noticed that the only realy popular matrix game on tilt is the golden ,super turbo 300 chips thingy.

I myself think i got bigger chances in the regular games.
The only turbo i play on a regular basis ,is the 26 dollar turbo matrix. As it is only 2 sit and goes that will pay cash for tokens. And since its 4 parts the matrix give more chances for money even if its a turbo.

So what are your thoughts on turbos being the more popular choise?

I like turbos because they take a lot less time to play. They're also more like a live game as far as how many hands are dealt per hour. I think those two are probably the biggest reasons for their popularity.

I aggree with Fonzi. The number 1 reason being the speed of the game. Some players will try to play as many hands per hour as posible so that they can have a chance to get their hourly win rate up.

I know I have been playing a lot on Full Tilt with their Rush poker games. These are just like cash games. I like that as soon as I decide to fold I am moved to the next full table of players. Unfortuanately when I decided to move up to the next level of buy ins I ended up losing my winnings. But thats poker.

I may be wrong, but, my impression of 'turbo' games is for players that don't care much whether they win or lose. Consequently they take many more chances and they become more unpredictable. They main concern is to play as fast as possible and to play many games quickly. Am I right or am I completely off?

I used to run turbo tourneys for 2 reasons. #1, a single table turbo sit and go would be done in about an hour or less. #2, I felt like I had a really good strategy for the format. I was making money playing in these tournaments. They say if something's not broke, don't try to fix it.

I also agree with fonzi that people play them because they take less time, but i find it's harder to get into the money because the blinds increase way faster. Also i find the level of play is lower than regular tournys
