My New Year's Resolution

Yes, not much of a resolver, but I have made a resolution this year. This is a resolution you should all make. and no matter how hard it is, follow it!

"I resolve to compliment every player who makes a poor poker play against me, whether they win or lose the hand. Even if i cannot fathom their reasoning for the call, I will pretend it was the smartest thing for them to do"

Example from Saturday:
I have QQ in the hijack, I raise 4x. The small blind goes all in, about 12 bb's total. I, of course, call. he shows K9 os. I won easily when a Q came on the flop, but I say.
"good hand K9, tough break there"

I challenge everyone to do this. There are just too few fish and we all need to stop giving them a free education by calling their plays dumb. So find something positive to say to them, even if that K9 beats your QQ with the 3 outer. Other players will laugh, but you do not have to explain, just keep the compliments coming.

I always do that on PKR. But they have a very handy /unlucky emote for your character.

well, I never say "nh" etc when it is a nice hand. you should already know it is, and if you don't, why tell you

I have been doing the complements like that for a long time. It doesn't work, they take it as sarcasm and then they stop playing so poorly in most cases. They don't even realize that anyone is noticing their donkishness until you say something, then they realize it and play better after the comment for some reason. I should stop doing it, but I can't help myself because coming from me, it really is sarcasm and I tend to lay it on too thick. That makes them mad at me, I guess, so they start playing more like they're capable of playing.

That can be a good thing if you need them to fold more often, but it does eliminate the possiblility of them doubling you up as well.

LOL LOL LOL are you freaking kidding me ??? I for One have to be nice and find postive things to say to people who are mean and demeaning and right out think of me as their personal slave daily in my normal job as Nursing asst at the Home ... So why would in my private life and time for myself when i'm completly A zz f@#Ked by a donkey would be nice and say something nice... ?? I get to blow off my frustration on them and never have to see them agian and It makes me FEEL SUPER FANTASTIC.................... so All those people who are killed with kindness by Lkport watch out for me cuz your not getting that from me You'll get my usally reply I hope ya get run over by a bus as you cross the street !!!
