November Marathon Feedback

As you all know we have had some issues with the server crashing during our marathons. This is primarily due to freerollers constantly hitting refresh to get the passwords. Even though we're on a very fast dedicated server, the database cannot handle it and upgrading to an even bigger server is just way too expensive. As it is we're paying $140 a month for this one.

So my thoughts are less freerolls and more buyins. How do you all feel about that? Would you rather play a $100 freeroll with 300 people or a $1-$5 buyin with $100 added and maybe 100 people?

Please give us some input here as we're going to start the scheduling soon.

Thanks

how about a mixture of both. you can make one lets say a 2 dollar bounty game. 1 dollar to prize pool and 1 dollar for knockouts. You can make the freeroll on the site that would likely have the least players in it and the buy in at lets say pokerstars where more members would play..

Wow, very nice idea. Makes perfect sense.

The down side is that usually we get the freeroll because we ran the buyin, so there is at least one of each buyin/freeroll per site. But I like the thought.
Maybe make the big site freerolls the last couple to play, so a crash doesn't mess with too many games.

I like the idea of more buyins and less freerolls or make it all buyins.

Actually I like the idea of all buy ins, but freerolls get new members to the forum and hopefully to the sites through your links. No matter what you decide, I'll be there.
