Well, my feelings are twofold.

One: they are useless. The eyes really don't give away much if you know how to hold yourself at a poker table, and you shouldn't venture to one unless you do.

Two: I am actually comfortable (even away from the poker table) with sunglasses on. It provides a feeling of aloneness if you will, and puts me at ease. It has nothing to do with the eyes, just personal comfort (like a loose fitting shirt or such).

I don't think it is something you should rely on in a poker game in any way.

I share Borgo's feelings, there is very little you can gain from someone's eyes at the poker table.

I wear them occasionally, but for different reasons. I like to watch players sometimes and don't want them knowing that they're being watched. I like watching what they do with their hands. If a player looks at his cards and immediately looks to or starts playing with his chips, he usually has a good hand.

I sometimes also wear them when my eyes start to get tired. It just hides the fact that I'm tired.

But for the most part I play without them.

I also agree there, I even think it's the main reason. Wearing them to watch players sometimes and don't want them knowing that they're being watched.
