Internet Gambling Prohibition Act

Here is a letter I got today from http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org

In the coming days, the House Judiciary Committee will vote on H.R. 4777, Internet Gambling Prohibition Act, sponsored by Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA). This legislation turns private companies into the government’s “morality police.” It requires Internet service providers (ISPs) to remove gambling related hyperlinks and forces banks to monitor your purchases and transactions to ensure that you are not gambling online. The plan is an affront to civil liberties. If the committee passes the bill, your ability to enjoy poker online will be at serious risk. *

Each member of the Poker Players Alliance has a critical voice in this debate. The members of the committee, listed below, need to know that Americans think this legislation is a bad idea.

For more information about H.R. 4777, go to the Poker Players Alliance Web site, http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org. *

Please Call! Tell Your Representatives to oppose the Goodlatte plan.

all i say is this
one. they don't give a dam about us because to them we are taking away money they need to give over seas so we can be in more trouble then we are.
two. they think we are taking money away from them, out of there pockets. i mean tax money they get when we buy milk, food, smokes, gas, and so on ain't enough for them I guess.
three. they just don't give a dam about what*we want so they say no u can't have it even though we want it. so i say this to them

I think this is another instance of politicians showing their lack of intelligence. Any smart politician would move to tax all online gambling winnings. I am not sure how it would be done (I never said I had all of the answers), but even a rake system could be developed. Yes, I know, thats more expensive on us players, but start taxing our vices before you raise taxes on our necesities, such as food, gas, and homes.
Just my thoughts.
