how to take screen shot?

I am just wondering how i take a screen shot. Is it different on a laptop or for windows vista? I have the prt screen button,, but it doesnt seem to work. i had this really rude kid i was playing against who was making anti-semtic remarks during a freeroll and I really wanted to report him. But my screen shot didn't work, and they couldn't do anything. Anyway i would really like to know how to do this on my computer. thanks.

Press Ctrl and PrtSc at the same time, then go to your paint program and paste it there. If you want to post it somewhere, go to www.photobucket.com sign up for your free account and upload your pic. Once that's done, click the last link beneath the pic and post that.

If Ctrl PrtSc doesn't work, click FN PrtSc. One of the two will work.

We also have a "Guide to the Forum" that will tell you these things (can be found in the Introduce Yourself section, I believe).

Ctrl+PrintScreen (found in upper right hand corner) will give you a screenshot of your entire monitor, while Alt+PrintScreen will give you a screenshot of nothing but the window you have at the front of your monitor. That way you can take shots of only the lobby to a tournament, for example, without getting your browser, background windows, the main lobby of one or more poker sites, etc... included in the pic. Plus, if you DO include all that, the picture takes about five times as long to upload on www.PhotoBucket.com, and will stretch the page on the forum so that most people have to scroll. Or, if it's really too big, it may be automatically resized so that people can't really see what you meant them to. Just something to keep in mind :).
