| PLANET POKER
Received an email today from Planet also went to their site for the following information. I can't explain how I feel, since this site was 1 of the first places I started playing. This may sound ridiculous, but I'm sitting here typing this on the verge of tears. It's not so much from the fact that we are having so many problems trying to play, but that our government is taking our rights away 1 at a time, which makes me feel completely helpless. I have called and written to everyone I can think of in government, but wish there was something else I could do. [b]After 9 years in business, Planet Poker has made the difficult decision to cease real money operations. Management regrets this decision but the impact of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in the U.S. leaves no reasonable alternative. During the past several months, Planet Poker explored every reasonable option to continue real money operations. This included working with other cardrooms and ecommerce processors to find solutions to the issues existing in the industry today. Unfortunately, no viable solution surfaced. We are pleased to announce that we have made arrangements with another cardroom to accommodate real money play for Planet Poker customers. Besides providing an exciting cardroom, you will have the opportunity for many other forms of real money online gaming and betting. As a Planet Poker customer, you may be eligible for special offers. Please sign into Planet Poker and click the "Transfer Now" button in the lobby to find out if you qualify for any special offers. FROM THEIR SITE Planet Poker Suspends Real Money Operations 31 March 2007 Planet Poker, the longest running and most trusted Internet cardroom, will be suspending real money operations effective 31 March 2007. Management sincerely regrets making this decision but it has become impossible for a small cardroom to properly service their customers due to the changes caused by the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in the U.S. Planet Poker, as part of the United Poker Network, will continue to support "play for fun" poker for existing Planet Poker players with the other participants in the United Poker Network. Planet Poker customers can rest assured that their funds are safe and secure as they have been for the past 9 years. Customers will receive a variety of emails, announcements and transfer offers providing information on how to cashout. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our players for their patronage and loyalty over the past nine years of operations. As on-line poker enters a new era, we wish you all the best of luck. We hope to return to real money operations when the U.S. government declares online poker legal and players from around the planet can play the game they love in the comfort of their own home without fear of financial or legal challenge. Thanks for letting me vent, I really needed it today. JulieBlues  |
