a little poker fishing story part #1

i thought id share a little story for those poker enthusiasts that like to read
about little successes
out here in BC canada we have the bc poker championships
but every year i miss them because ive been out fishing in oct/nov
well this year we finished early at sea on the big boats and just had to fish our (me and the spouce) own boat localythrough the summer
so i decided to play a $225 satelite to the $3000 main event
well saturday oct 29th i went to the local(riverrock casino) i sat down with about 173 players (paid i think it was 12 or so) and i won a $3000 seat to the main event
well that was great i was finally going to play the tourny ive wanted to for a few years
then on monday nov 1st they were having another sattelite so i decided to play and stay warmed up for the live play
so i shelled out another $225 and sat down with about 370 or so players
(it paid i think 24)
well there was about 27 players left and my cellphone rang
i folded and quickl;y answered it
it was my other 1/2 saying that they were opening salmon fishing thursday nov 3rd for our boat (damn now im in a delema ) main event was four days and stared tommorow nov 2nd till 5th
i had a massive pile of chips infront of me and was 90+ % sure i won another ticket even if i sat out
so i asked the next player knocked out if hed like to buy a ticket
i sold him my 1st one for $2800
($200 less than if he went and bought it tommorow when the tourny started)
well about 10 minutes later i won my second $3000 main event ticket
after thinking about never missing a fishing opening ever
i said the heck with it and sold the second ticket for $2800 as well
(damit ill have to wait till next year )
i managed to watch a bit of the tourny in wonder (what if)
there was 474 plyrs in the main event and it paid 45 1st was i think 288k
and if you made the money it started at $6500
well allin all i did ok with my cost of $450 for buyins and my $5600 for the tickets i sold and the lousy $500 for fishing
i figure i almost made the money
