I have played this a couple of times at the .05/.10 level. What I noticed is that a lot of times the big blind will pre-select check/fold and everyone with bad hands has auto-folded before, so that if you raise the small blind with anything on an unraised pot, you can take the hand more than half the time. I usually bet .30 and it seems to work.

This isn't bad strategy... however you need to also realize there are others trying to do this... and three-bet from the blinds frequently! Never, ever check/fold or quick fold from late pos or the blinds.

as per James' request
I copied this strategy here:

my experience in Rush, led me to a different approach than yours,
early on (before the take 2 promo)I would build a decent stack
only to lose it, in one, two or three consecutive played hands
and that made me create a new strategy

My rules on MicroRush are:

Buy-in for $4
Don't get in big pots pre-flop*
After I have doubled my stack, use the 25cent rule**
If I have tripled my sit-down stack, I MUST stand-up & reload for $4

those are my basic rules
and there are different strategies for each (for instance)

*the big pot rule, doesn't apply when the others' stacks are all under a buck.
but someone who has me dominated in chips
isn't gonna get my stack
my feeling is , it is RushPoker, quickfold over & over, for a good starting hand
I don't have to play what I have,
I can go after something better

**my 25 cent rule is as follows (it actually stretches 25 cents, up to 49 cents)
once I have doubled my stack, if I fall below a 25cent level I must standup & reload for $4
an example being if before a hand I have $9.45
I will have 45 cents to play with
If I play & lose that hand & knocked down to $9.23, then I only have 23 cents to play with
If I win the hand & my new stack is; $9.66 or 9.75 or 10.55 or 11.29
then my stand up level, must go to $9.25 or 9.50 or 10.25 or 11.00
the stand up level, can only move up & never move down

that rule protects my profits
the stand up rule(s), protects my profits & my stack
when holding the absolute nuts, the whole stack can go into play
otherwise, I am in protection mode

Rush poker is still new
I had to create some rules to it
because I found my stacks vanishing before me
and my roll there diminishing

thanks to my rules (and they are what work for me)
my roll has started a comeback
and is no longer on its downward spiral

I have found that it is a long slow process
to build a roll
but a quick one, to lose it

Thanks for the advice MJO...I found it to be very helpful. I have a hard time stopping once I win a bunch and that is something i need to work on. I sometimes will stay thinking I'm on a roll and I end up losing it and then some, lol. Get in and make your profit and leave is the best policy!
