2010 WSOP Event #38 info

Event #38 of the 2010 World Series of Poker is the Pot Limit Holdem Championship. Championship means that the buyin for this event is $10,000. Being such a high buyin, and somewhat of a lesser specialty, only 268 players opted top take a shot at this bracelet. The $2,519,200 prize pool will be distributed to the top 27 players. All that make the money can look forward to at least $21,665 while they all are really looking to score the winner's share of $617,214.

Being pot limit, and because of the 30,000 chip starting stacks, a little over half the field returns for day 2. 135 players will reseat and start the action today. Tom Marchese leads the field after day 1. Doyles Room Brunson 10 member Dani Stern is also in the top 10 in chips. If you think that a $10,000 buyin event brings out the heavy hitters, you would be correct. Some names lurking include Daniel Negreanu, Hoyt Corkins, Shaun Deeb (presumably less offensively attired), Annie Duke, and Erica Schoenberg. Day 2 action should see a significant paring of this field.
