Poker for dummies is great for a new player, but once you're beyond the basics, it's not very useful.

Funny story happened to me today. I went over to the Bellagio to pick something up and as I was paying a guy came in asking if they sell basic strategy cards for Blackjack. The attendant pointed him in the right direction and when he walked away I said "It's a bit late for that now, he needs to know the games before coming to Vegas". Her response (With an oriental accent and flair about it) was "they don't know what they're doing, they just mess up everyone else's game, go play slots, anyone can push a button". And she was absolutely correct.

So learn the basics before you go play for big money.

"Americans have played poker throughout history. Playing poker on the internet is simply an example of an American tradition evolving into the 21st century. It is unfathomable that poker, an American pastime and game of skill, should be banned for the millions who enjoy playing responsibly."
