Day 1
The trip started off on 6/27 with a two hour delay from CLE to LAS, something that happens frequently, so we were expecting it. We arrived at LAS around 5:45 PM and the luggage was quickly unloaded from the plane, faster than I can ever remember. Unfortunately, my luggage was nowhere to be found. When the next flight's bags began unloading, it wasn't looking good and I filled out a lost luggage report with Southwest. The taxi line was short, in fact, there was no one in line. Cab driver proceeds to long haul us to Bally's, taken south to go north and then west to go east, something I will make sure never happens again.
There was no line at Bally's registration desk, we tipped the clerk $20.00 and she was very appreciative. Reserved a standard South Tower room, she upgraded us to a Junior Executive Suite in the remodeled North Tower. The suite was large and included a bedroom, sitting area, dressing room and bathroom. For less than $70/night, we received a suite in the center of the strip, not a bad deal!

View from our room
Walked up the strip and checked the tournament schedules at some poker rooms, ate at Outback Restaurant in Casino Royale. Ended up at O'Sheas for the midnight tournament, $45 for 2000 in chips, 20 minute levels, no antes, top 10% are paid. My wife had aces cracked early against a set of tens. I made the final table but busted out before the money, my QQ lost to KQ when a King hit the flop. We decided to call it a night and went to bed.
