Where to play

Well I crapped out of the 2009 WSOP. I guess i should be hanging out at the Amazon Room acting like a reporter and telling you what is going on with the events. Well, thats not happening.

I came here to play poker, and that is what I am still doing, albeit poorly.

So far I have played at
The Rio: two $1,500 buyin WSOP events, no success
Golden Nugget: $45 Rounders Radio game, 7th for $110
Gold Coast: $45 tournament, no success
O'Shea's: $45 tournament, no success; $100 in $1/$2 cash game right on the Strip, blew it all
Orleans: $60 tournament, no success

I still have 6 days left and plan to play some poker every one of those days with better results.

I have to tell you during large events, the Amazon and other rooms are just too small. That may sound silly, but when the big tournaments go on break, you can hardly move in the hallways.

When I return, I have set some fairly lofty goals for my online poker play. I pretty much have to make $14k before the next WSOP or I will not attend.

My lack of success here doesn't really have me down. I do not play live poker very often, and did not expect to be the next Moneymaker. I have made some fairly elementary mistakes that I am disappointed with. I plan to work past those mistakes and accelerate my risk online.

That is not a "go big or go home" declaration. I will always protect my online bankroll and drop down if I have an extended losing streak. I will, however, take shots at higher prize pools when I am up.
