GSN brings back High Stakes Poker

There have been many rumors and articles floating around stating the uncertainty of the show "High Stakes Poker" with airs on The Game Show Network. Earlier this year, it appeared as though "High Stakes Poker" was dead and gone and that GSN halted production of the show and decided not to pick up the next season. Hosts Gabe Kaplan and A.J. Benza weren't told what was happening with the show. It appeared that "High Stakes Poker" might be finished, despite the high ratings that the show received year after year.

Well, there is finally some good news for poker fans. GSN confirmed that the fifth season of "High Stakes Poker" would in fact take place. The show wasn't dead after all. "High Stakes Poker" is coming back!

It is still not known exactly who will be participating in this season, but you can bet that invitations will be extended to players such as Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Sammy Farah, Phil Laak, and Doyle Brunson. "Fans will be in for a thrill", said Mori Eskandani, executive producer of the show, about who will be playing on the show.

They don't call it High Stakes for nothing. The minimum buy-in for this season will be $200,000.

The game will be at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

"High Stakes Poker" has produced some memorable moments, including:

-Hansen vs Negreanu
-Benyamine vs Laliberte
-Antonius vs Gold
-Antonius vs Farha
-Hellmuth vs Matusow

The airing date of the first episode is said to be mid February.
