| even tho fonzi didn't mention me, I'll answer anyways
first thing that strikes me in your post is
"my problem is I don't have alot* of money"
playing with scared money has to be the second worst thing to bet with, playing on tilt would be #1. If your afraid to lose, you will be afraid to win.
now with that being said, and with the rest of your post, is your a very tight player. The players probably see you as predictable, there for there is no need to chase vs someone(you) that has a made hand.
as for the calling down with nothing till the river.... that's poker
I know it sucks to hear that being said, I mean, it does get repetitive to hear that as the answer.
But what I really mean by that, is at lower limits, people will just call down with anything, maybe they think your bluffing, maybe they just don't care.
I've sat at a .02/.04 game with over $1000 in my bankroll
posted the blind first hand, got 72 sooted, and pushed all in and hit a flush.
yes it truly is a donkey play I made, and even worse that it paid off. I heard for almost an hour and half how bad of a player I was.... etc etc etc
and left the table with just over $20
When I play ring games, I prefer to play them on the smaller sites, like Cheers... where I know everyones name and game, and use my note taking skills the utmost advantage.
the most important aspect for me, with note taking is not how much more I win /hr but really how much less I lose.
I know the players that will call down with Ace rag, but not open with it. So I would be more inclined to check down a soft pair or top pair / weak kicker, and not get to excited about betting to maximize draws.
if your discussion particular hands, it really does help to provide as much detail about the hand as possible.
what might look or sound like a basic, A B C hand history, really could be totally different depending on the flavor of the flop. |
