| Dutch Government to online poker players - pay up
Online poker players in the Netherlands have received tax demands for undeclared income earned from playing at foreign online poker site. Dutch tax authorities were able to trace the players by linking their online aliases with their true identities.
The authorities have contacted numerous Dutch poker players, sending them an information guide on the issue of online gaming and taxation along with tax return forms. Dutch online poker players are in shock as to how the government came to know their online poker aliases.
