It's a pity there was not more comment on this thread as it is an interesting topic.
Obviously anyone who read the thread from which Borgo takes his quote will know that I actually said "I was not a fan of suited connectors." not that I never played them. Of course I do but I also know that drawing hands such as the one he originally mentioned I reckon are better played against a number of players as cheaply as possible to be getting the proper pot odds to do so. Additionally position is absolutely critical. If I have one rule I try to abide by, it is not to bet if I can't take a raise pre-flop and therefore playing poorly-ranked drawing hands out of position is not for me. I may not be a top-class player and not to the standard of the thread-starter but all the cash I have built-up at the various sites I play at has come for free and it has cost me nothing to play in all the buyins and League games I enter every day.
Incidentally I played Borgo's way against Borgo the other day. The first four times with sc's such as 78, 89 etc I missed the flop and saw my chipstack eroding, the next time I raised on the button and took the tiny blinds just for fun. The final time I had a real sc hand, KJclubs, I made flush and got wasted by full house and was gone one place out of the money.
Still not a fan! LOL
